Climbing Gear

A harness is a system used for connecting the rope to the climber. Most harnesses used in climbing are reconstructed and are worn around the pelvis and hips, although other types are used occasionally. These harnesses prevent children from falling even when inverted. The modern sport of rock climbing makes extensive use of so called mountain climbing rope, which designed to stretch under load in an elastic manner in order to absorb the energy required to arrest a person in free fall without generating forces high enough to injure somebody. Rock climbing ropes are used for caving, rappelling, and rescue applications and used by many rock climbing enthusiasts around the world.
