The compass features a sapphire bearingand the card is induction damped for fast settling with an accuracy of+/- 2 mils. The compass card has both the standard 0 - 360 degree scale,as well as the 0 - 64 Mil scale (one yard at 1,000 yards). The bezelrotates with detents every 3 degrees so you can change the headingreference a known amount without looking at the compass. The front sighthas a magnifier to simultaneously view the magnetic heading when takinga sight. When unfolded flat, the marching compass has a straight edgewith a standard 1:50,000 map scale.
