A tankini is a swimsuit tat
many women have embraced
because it is a two-piece
desgin like a bikini, yet it
is more modestly designed. It
is particualry popular as
children's swimwear, and
athletic outfit good enough
for a triathlon. Tankinis are
suggested as an option for
women who had gone through
mastectomy, modest bust sizes
and long-torsos. The bikini is
typically a women's two-piece
suit swimsuit. One part of the
attire covers the breasts and
the other part covers the
groin and part or the entire
buttocks, leaving an uncovered
area between the two. Both the
tankini and bikini are worn in
hot weather, while swimming or
tanning on the beach or by the
pool. Swimsuits are aslo worn
when there is a need to
display the body, as in the
case of a beatufy pageant or
body building contest. There
is a very wide range of styles
of tankinis and bikinis, which
vary in relation to body
coverage and materials. The
choice of style of swimsuit is
dependent on current fashions
and community standards of
modesty, as well as on
personal preferences.
