Weapon accessories are items
that can be attached to a
firearm to provide extra
functionally, or swapped for a
different purpose. A modern
weapon often has four such
rails, a top rail for optics,
a bottom rail for under-slung
weapons or stability
attachments and side rails for
other devices like an
adjustable laser sight. A
spotting scope is a small
portable telescope with added
optics to present an erect
image, optimized for the
observation of terrestrial
objects. They are used for
bird-watching and other
naturalist activities, for
hunting, verifying a
marksman’s shot surveillance
and for any other application
that requires more
magnification than a pair of
binoculars. Spotting scopes
are used on target ranges to
avoid walking to the target to
verify the placement of hits.
A rifle sling is a type of
strap or harness designed to
allow a shooter to carry a
firearm. The advantage of the
three-point rifle sling is
that it functions more like a
harness and is therefore
strapped to the shooter. This
allows the shooter to release
the weapon to use his/her
hands for other tasks without
the fear of dropping it on the
ground since it will remain
hanging from the shooter and
easily accessible when needed
again. The design of the
three-point rifle sling
consists of a loop of material
that loops around the torso
and two straps that go to the
front and rear of the weapon.
