Military watches, as their
name suggests, were developed
for use in the armed forces.
The first military watches
were naval pieces,
chronometers that worked well
for their purposes, but as
other branches of the
military, aviation in
particular, made major
technological advances around
the time of the Second World
War and precise seconds became
critical. The U.S. military
has no specific requirements
for the appearance and
construction of a wristwatch
to be used for military
purposes. However, it has
established specific standards
for military watch
performance. By developing
performance standards, the
military has opened the door
for the use of commercial
watches. Clip watches are
military watches that can be
easily clipped to the belt
loops on your pants, backpack,
key ring, large zipper, or
easily stored inside your
pockets. The clip watches work
the same as regular wrist
watches except they allow your
hands to be free while you
still have access to the time.
Our military watch bands,
sometimes referred to as watch
band, watch bands, watchbands,
or watchband, generally fit
most military and casual
watches. Great item to use as
a replacement watch band or to
include in a gift set when
giving a watch. All our
replacement watch bands are
fully adjustable. A quartz
watch is a watch that uses an
electronic oscillator that is
regulated by a quartz crystal
to keep time. This crystal
oscillator creates a signal
with very precise frequency,
so that quartz clocks are at
least an order of magnitude
more accurate than good
mechanical clocks.
