Glow sticks are fun to play with when used properly. They offer hours of light and entertainment, and come in had during natural disaster, for emergency lighting. Light sticks make a perfect safety light because they are portable and lightweight. Light sticks are also popular for dancers, which can be worn as necklaces. Glow and light sticks make an ideal lamp for divers and campers during the night time. Lightsticks or glow sticks are used by trick-or-treaters during Halloween and for a party decoration. In order to activate a light stick, you bend the plastic stick, which breaks the glass vial. This allows the chemicals that were inside the glass to mix with the chemicals in the plastic tube. Once these substances contact each other, a reaction starts taking place, and the reaction releases light causing the stick to glow.
